A woman never lost faith in finding her cat, in fact she searched for him for two years. She eventually found the friend with whom she spent 12 years together.
The cat is named Diego and had disappeared since June 2015. He’s a flame-point Siamese and has been with his owner, Iris Samaniego, for 12 years.
Diego is an indoor cat, and one day he sneaked out when he found the garage door open, during a visit from Iris’ father.
I posted signs everywhere for over a year.
Said Iris, but nobody could find Diego. Everybody lost hope but Iris, who continued to search for him.
I was at work and in between patients, I’m a vet tech, something told me to look on animal friends of the valley website which is odd for me.
When she went online she couldn’t believe her eyes
I saw his picture and left work as fast I could.
Iris and her sister Crystal ran to the shelter, and they were sure they found their lost friend.
The moment I saw him I felt indescribable joy, I felt peace and overwhelmed because I knew he wasn’t dead. My intuition always told me he was alive.
Iris didn’t give up even for a day, even when her family suggested her to forget her Diego, she kept strong.
There was a special bond between Iris and Diego, they were inseparable even befor Before Diego disappeared.
As Crystal said:
Never give up on finding your animals. This is the best Christmas present she could have received.
Here’s the video of the moment they got back together:
Diego obviously was very happy in his old loving home
He was stressed at the shelter but once we got him he is totally back to his old self.
Even Iris kids cried tears of joy when coming back from school found their friend Diego, with whom they grew up.
After almost two long years I found my 13 year old cat! I can’t tell you how much joy this has brought our family.
I found him! The kids literally cried with joy.
